Admission Procedure
Admission process for June 2010 batch was communicated to all the study centres in the last month. However, requests were made by various study centres regarding payment mode of fees. The university has modified the procedure as follows. All the study centres are instructed to take action as per procedure given below:
- The prospectus and application form will be sold by the study center to the student who is seeking admission.
- The price of the prospectus and application form is Rs.100/-
- The university offers 15 certificate programmes, 2 diploma programmes and 2 degree programmes. Separate application forms have to be issued for each programme that the student wishes to seek admission to. (The students of “Y” series PRN are being registered on course wise basis and hence they will have to purchase a separate prospectus for each course they want to register. The students of “N” series PRN should purchase only one prospectus for a degree programme (BCA or BSc (BIS). The student who wants to take admission to second or third year of degree programme will also have to purchase a prospectus and submit the application form.
- “Y” series students can register to maximum of 7 courses at a time.
- If student is registering for Project then he will be allowed to enroll for only TWO certificate courses along with Project.
- The student shall purchase application form, Bank Challan and prospectus, study its details and ensure that he satisfies the entry qualifications and any other conditions required. If the candidate is desirous to take admission in the academic program, he will fill the application form carefully; get the signature of the Study Center staff as approval alongwith the rubber stamp on the admission form as well as Bank Challan.
- The study center should check the eligibility of the student and certify admission form of only eligible students. The responsibility of eligibility of students lies solely with the study center in case of legal matter.
- The student will then submit the admission form and annexure (photocopies of documents required, e.g., proof of having passed qualifying examination, date of birth, etc.) at a branch of Bank of Maharashtra and pay only the amount of UNIVERSITY PROGRAM FEE (including - where applicable- direct admission fee, convocation fee, late fee etc.). The candidate does not need to pay STUDY CENTRE FEE to the Bank of Maharashtra. The student shall pay the study center fee share directly to the study center.
- The remaining admission process to be followed as given in the prospectus.
- Study Centre should collect Photo copy of admission form and part C of challan from the student. Upload the student admission details on the website. The study center should note that from this year they have to enter the details of Challan Number and Bank Transaction ID on the website instead of DD details.
- Take a print out of students admission form from the website and attach part C of all the challans to it.
- The Study Center is required to invest in Fixed Deposit of Bank of Maharashtra. For this purpose, the study center should open an account in the nearest branch of Bank of Maharashtra.
The details of opening this account are as follows:
- The account should be opened in a Branch of Bank of Maharashtra that falls in the same Regional Jurisdiction.
- The title of the account should be Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University <Name Of Study Center>

Jointly by the Head and Coordinator & in case, presently, the Head and the Coordinator is the same person, a separate coordinator must be appointed.
- The Study center should send to the School of Computer Science the following details:li>

- Photocopy of the relevant paper of the passbook
- In case of appointment of a new Coordinator, the detailed bio-data with copies of educational qualifications of the Coordinator.
- The study center should collect study center fee share directly from the student. This facility is given to the study center under following condition.
- Study center should calculate study center fee share of all the admitted students and 5% of this share should be deposited in the Bank of Maharashtra as a fixed deposit for 3 Years in the name of signatory of above mentioned account.
- The study center should send Scan copy of attested receipt of Fixed Deposit immediately to the School via email.
- At the end of financial year study center should submit audited statement to the School of Computer Science within 3 months.
- This process should be followed for each batch.
- The unsold copies of the prospectus and application forms must be returned by the Study Center to the Regional Center in the first week of September 2010. This should be accompanied by
- The amount for the prospectus and application forms sold by the Study Center.
- A report showing number of programe wise enrolled students should be printed from the portal. This report is available through study centre login.
- The Regional Center will refund the share of prospectus sales to the study center in cash (Rs. 50´ no. of students registered).
- At the end of admission date, the study center should submit “Admission Forms Printed from WebSite” alongwith part ‘C’ of challans and eligibility documents at the head quarter, Nashik in person and collect the study material.
- To improve quality and authenticity of examinations, the examination may NOT be conducted on every study centre. The list of examination centres shall be announced by the university every semester.
- The above mentioned procedure is applicable for the programs of the School of Computer Science. The Study Centers must not apply them to the programs of any other schools on the basis of this circular.
